Sharmila inaugurates artifacts’ exhibition at National Museum

KARACHI: Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister on Culture and Tourism, Sharmila Farooqui has said that museum is the best means to establish link between past and present, as it helps create awareness about history, culture and heritage.

Talking to the media after inaugurating an exhibition of precious artifacts at National Museum here on Sunday in connection with World Museum Day, she said that this event has been organised to create awareness among youths about history and culture. The exhibition will continue till May 27.

Answering a question, she said that the artifacts at the museum are precious and priceless, therefore, fool-proof security arrangements are being made for their safety.

The artifacts put on display at the exhibition included gold jewellery, coins, statue found from Moenjodaro ruins as well as Quaid-e-Azam’s passport and hundreds of years old books.

Additional Secretary Culture and Tourism Bashir Memon Brohi, Superintendent National Museum Muhammad Shah Bhukari and a large number of people visited the exhibition.
