ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Saturday said that interest of the employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) should be protected in the process of restructuring of the national carrier.
Talking to Shujaat Azeem, PM’s Advisor on Aviation who called on him, the minister said the process of acquiring more planes for the airline should be put on fast track for facilitation of the passengers and the people.
He assured him of government’s complete support for bringing financial stability to the national airline.
Dar appreciated the efforts, being made by the Advisor Advisor to upgrade PIA and steps being taken to improve its performance.
Earlier Shujaat Azeem, briefed the Finance Minister on the reforms being introduced in PIA.
He also informed about the progress and performance of the national carrier and the financial issues, being faced by the airline.
The meeting was also attended by Rana Assad Amin, Advisor to Finance Ministry and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance.
