PM Nawaz eyes ‘historic opportunity’ for ties with India

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said he saw an “historic opportunity” for stronger ties with India after landmark talks with his counterpart Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

“We agreed that our meeting in New Delhi should be an historic opportunity for both our countries,” Sharif told reporters.

“I pointed out that we were at the beginning of our respective mandates. This provides us with the opportunity of meeting the hopes and aspirations of our peoples, that we will succeed in turning a new page in our relations.”
