New weather system to bring more rains: Met Office

ISLAMABAD: A new weather system would approach the South West Balochistan on Thursday and cause widespread rain in different parts of Balochistan and Upper Sindh during the next 24 hours.

An official of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) told APP the weather system would also affect upper parts of the country and bring rain at scattered places on Friday and Saturday.

Widespread dust-thunderstorm and rain associated with strong gusty winds are expected in Balochistan including Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran and Sibbi division and Sindh including Sukkur, Larkana and Hyderabad.

While, dust-thunderstorm with rain associated with gusty winds is likely at scattered places of South Punjab including Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Peshawar and Hazara division,Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

The met office has earlier predicted unstable weather conditions for the whole month of May.

The official said the Met office earlier advised the farmers to complete the harvesting process of Wheat during the gap after rain.

The maximum temperatures calculated at 2.00 pm were Islamabad 30 C, Lahore 35 C, Karachi 34 C, Peshawar 31 C, Quetta 27 C, Murree 19 C, Muzaffarabad 28 C, Multan 35 C, Faislabad 32 C, Hyderabad 35 C and Sukkur 21 C.
