MC endorce Sethi for PCB’s democratic constitution

KARACHI: The Management Committee members unanimously endorsed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi’s request to the Ministry of International ProvincialCoordination (IPC) to promulgate the new democratic PCB Constitution at the earliest and subsequently conduct the elections without delay.

This was decided during a meeting of Management Committee held under Chairman PCB Najam Sethi, during their the sixth meeting held at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Monday, said a PCB statement.

Meeting was also attended by Shaharyar M. Khan, Iqbal Qasim, Shakil Shaikh, Zaheer Abbas, Subhan Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer PCB.

“The Management Committee Members also took note of the outstanding arrears of approximately Rs. 20 million detailed in the internal audit report for the period of Zaka Ashraf was Chairman PCB and authorized Najam Sethi to inquire into the matter and make an attempt to enforce recoveries,” it said.

The Management Committee members also unanimously approved health insurance and benefits to Board’s contractual employees. These are currently only available to permanent employees of PCB.

An update on the current legal position of the PCB was also provided to the Management Committee members, the statement concluded.
