Islamabad: ANF seizes 9 kg heroin, 1.1 kg amphetamine

ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) have seized 9 kg heroin and 1.1 kg amphetamine, and arrested three persons from Islamabad airport and a courier company in Lahore.

An ANF Rawalpindi team on information conducted an operation at Islamabad airport and recovered 3.04 kg heroin from two employees of Civil Aviation Authority:
Masood Hussain (electrician) and Muhammad Sabir (aircraft mechanic), said a press release.

ANF team intercepted them at PIA Cargo Terminal, where they were in possession of eight books in which off-white heroin was concealed. Both the individuals approached cargo terminal by car and motorcycle. Initial investigation revealed that they wanted
to send it to Holland.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport team conducted an operation at Islamabad Airport and arrested a passenger Hamayun Afzal r/o Chakwal, while recovering 1.1 kg amphetamine tactfully concealed in his trolley bag. He was to travel to Bahrain by Gulf Airline Flight No GF-771.

ANF Lahore on information conducted an operation and seized 6 kg heroin tactfully concealed in a garment parcel, being sent abroad through UPS courier company from Gulberg. The drugs were tactfully concealed in packing of cotton trousers and t-shirts. The parcel was dispatched by Aqil Shah r/o Sargodha and was destined for UK.

Cases have been registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigations were under progress.
