Indians demand ban on fajar prayer

MANGLORE: An unconditional and shameful demand has revealed by the Indian authorities for a strict ban on Fajr prayer calls delivered from the Masjids during early morning across India.

The protest was held under the banner of Rashtriya Hindu Andolan and some of the protesters displayed the banner of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, an extremist Hindutva outfit.

The public who have demanded the ban on Fajar prayer calls carried a view that the prayer calls disturb the sleep of other people who resides in the area.

Further people said that those who use loudspeakers for Azan before 6 a.m. in the morning should be arrested and punished.

The protest came on the screen a day ahead of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
