Food parcels provided to 3500 famine-hit families in Tharparkar

ISLAMABAD: A renowned Pakistani Cellular company has provided food parcels to 3500 families in different Union Councils of Tharparkar as part of its relief measures to support famine-hit people.

The food parcels were provided in Tehsils Diplo, Chachro, Nagarparker, Islamkot and Mithi and contained a two weeks ration including wheat flour, rice, daal, ghee, sugar, tea, salt, water bottles and milk.

Comopany on Monday announced that in line with its vision of helping people, 20 employees from all over Pakistan volunteered and travelled to Tharparkar.

Apart from this, all employees of that company donated for the drought affected people of the area.

This CSR initiative was carried out in collaboration with Support with Working Solutions, which is a non-profit organization working for the community driven development in Pakistan for the last 20 years.

Expressing his views regarding this initiative, Head of CSR at that cellular company, Amir Pasha said company continues with its tradition of being there for Pakistanis in time of crisis to mitigate some of the miseries caused by the disastrous famine, which the Tharparkar residents are facing.

Chief Executive Officer, Support with Working Solutions (SWWS), Javed Akhtar thanked that company for extending its full support during the relief operations.
