Doctors advise Musharraf to go abroad for treatment

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former military ruler and president Pervez Musharraf has been recommended by doctors to immediately seek medical treatment abroad for a spinal fracture, Aaj News reported on Friday.

According to the reports claimed by medical board of Karachi’s PNS Shifa; due to lack of expertise, the fracture cannot be treated in Pakistan. A five-member medical team, which examined Musharraf’s spine and left leg, has said the pain he had first experienced two years ago in Dubai has now intensified.

Due to severe back bone pain, Musharraf visited PNS Shift where doctors has recommended Musharraf to travel to Dubai, North America or Europe for surgery.

It is significant to mention here that Musharraf, who faces treason charges and is on bail in several high profile cases, had shifted to Karachi late last month to live with his daughter and have a detailed medical checkup.

However, Musharraf’s medical report came a day after the federal government opposed removing his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) in its reply submitted before the Sindh High Court (SHC).
