CM Balochistan, Interior Minister discuss political, security situation


ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch called on Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here on Friday and discussed the overall political and security situation of the Balochistan province.

The Minister appreciated the steps taken by the Balochistan Government and law enforcing agencies in bringing about considerable improvement in overall security of the province.

He said that by grace of Almighty Allah no major incident in Quetta has been reported for last many months.

The Minister said that government is providing necessary resources for upgrading security apparatus especially in Balochistan.

He said that an exclusive meeting of heads of all civil armed forces, security agencies and IGs of all provinces including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, was called at POF Wah yesterday and impressed upon them for patronizing state assets and institutions.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the government will continue to provide necessary political and administrative support to the Balochistan government to ensure welfare of people and stability in the province.

Both sides agreed that this was the right time to activate the peace process with the militant groups in Balochistan.

The Minister said that federal government is willing to assist the provincial government and reaching out to the groups which are estranged with federation of Pakistan.

Chief Minister Balochistan appreciated the federal government for its support to the provincial government and said that improved coordination between the provincial government and law enforcing agencies is proving effective in establishing peace in Balochistan.
