ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday passed a resolution under Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Shazia Marri to remove the ban on YouTube in Pakistan.
According to Shazia Marri, except Pakistan, all Muslim countries have removed the ban on YouTube, whereas the entities in which YouTube is banned can be accessed through certain proxy settings.
Shazia Marri argued with NA members on adopting double standard on this particular issue, whereas State Minister Saira Afzal claimed that the ban on YouTube was imposed when PPP’s Govt. was in rule and after a certain amount of time, the same Govt. tried to remove this ban under the court directives.
It is pertinent to know that the ban on YouTube was imposed on September 2012 in Pakistan.
