Ambassador Jilani presents credentials to Jamaican Governor General

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani, who is also concurrently accredited as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, presented his credentials to Sir Patrick Allen, Governor General of Jamaica, in Kingston Jamaica.

According to the Pakistani embassy, High Commissioner Jilani conveyed the greetings of the President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to the Governor General, the Government and the people of Jamaica.

He stated that during his tenure as High Commissioner to Jamaica, he would work to deepen and strengthen bilateral political and economic relations and build upon the friendship that exists between Pakistan and Jamaica.

Governor General Allen pledged to extend his full support and the Jamaican government’s cooperation in this endeavor.

Pakistan and Jamaica have enjoyed friendly relations, which are based on commonality of interests and shared values.

The active participation of Pakistan and Jamaica in the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement and the Commonwealth of Nations has contributed to the strengthening of these organizations.
