5,414 persons granted loans under PM’s Youth Loan Scheme, NA told

ISLAMABAD: A total of 5,414 persons hailing from across country have so far been granted loans under Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme, Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatisation Muhammad Ishaq Dar told National Assembly.

In a written reply to the question of Ms Shahida Rehmani, he said 348 successful applicants of loans hailed from Sindh, 76 from Balochistan, 4,128 from Punjab, 675 from Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, 7 hailed from Gilgit-Baltistan, 75 belonged to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 105 hailed from Islamabad.

Giving bankwise breakup, he said 64 successful applicants have provided loans by First Women Bank Limited and 5,350 by National Bank of Pakistan.

Out of 5,414 successful applicants 5,302 loans were secured against personal guarantee, while 112 loans were secured against mortgage of property owned by the loan applicants.
