12th May incident: Lawyers observing black day in country

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council has called to observe ‘Black Day’ today across the country to condemn the killing of lawyers on May 12, 2007, during a movement for the restoration of the judiciary, Aaj News reported.

According to the reports,  PBC Vice-Chairman Ramzan Chaudhry appealed to members of the bar as well as civil society on Saturday to observe ‘Black Day’ nationwide on Monday (12th May).

In this regard, all judicial work at the high court and district courts remained suspended and litigants were given new dates for their cases.

Many rallies will be organized today to conduct a peaceful protest associated with the incident of 12th May.
