TTP condemns fruit market blast

PESHAWAR: Shahidullah Shahid, spokesman for Tehrik-i-Taliban Paksitan (TTP), on Wednesday condemned the Islamabad Fruit and Vegetable Market (Sabzi Mandi) blast that killed at least 24 persons and injured many others.

The TTP spokesman, in a statement emailed to the press, said targeting innocent civilians was “illegal and prohibited”. Such attacks were un-Islamic in which innocent civilians were targeted.

He claimed that the TTP was committed to ceasefire. People knew who were behind bomb attacks at public places. “Hidden elements shouldn’t be ignored,” he added.

Shahidullah said the TTP condemned blasts at public places.
