Trade and Business diplomacy to help foreign investment, improve country’s image: Javed Malik

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Special Envoy and President of Diplomat Business Club (International), Ambassador Javed Malik said on Thursday that Trade and business diplomacy initiated by the present government would help attract foreign investment besides improving the image of the country internationally.

He stated this while addressing one-day Leaders Summit as the keynote speaker here at a local hotel this morning.

“In order to deal with modern day diplomacy traditional diplomacy must be supported through innovation mechanism to collectively advance and protect our national interest in order to position Pakistan as a strong business leader and promote its business and trade interest”, he remarked.

He highlighted the significance of trade diplomacy in modern times, saying that it was one of the most important mediums through which diplomatic relations between nations can flourish.

It is pertinent to mention here that more than 600 delegates from different countries attended the summit.

“The premier conference, which was aimed to bring together leaders and chief executive officers, was a prestigious forum that connected business leaders and decision makers”, Javed Malik said.

Giving an insight into his presentation, Ambassador Malik said in view of various challenges in a globally interdependent world, innovative strategies are being adopted by diplomats all over the world to respond the same.

“In my opinion the significance of economic diplomacy will continue to grow in the modern world and nations that accept and innovate their foreign policies accordingly will continue to lead the way into the future”, he remarked.

Similarly economic, trade and business diplomacy, he said, are important aspects of country’s promotion through which “we highlight and project our country’s positive image with a view to attracting foreign investment, expanding trade with other nations.”
