SC not defaulter of electricity bills

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued clarification regarding news item aired by different news channels about non-payment of electricity bills to IESCO by Pak PWD.

According to the news, the electricity connection of Supreme Court building, Islamabad, on Tuesday was disconnected by IESCO on account of non-payment of electricity bills by Pak PWD was wrong.

According to the press release issued here, in pursuance of the clearance certificate of Pak PWD dated April 29, showing that all the electricity dues of Supreme Court of Pakistan building, Chief Justice House and all judges residences have been paid to IESCO up to date i.e. uptill April, 2014.

It was clarified that all the electricity dues against Supreme Court building, Chief Justice House and all Judges Residences were already paid as per version of Pak. PWD.
