Qatar charity to continue sponsoring 3300 orphans in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Country Director, Qatar Charity Khalid Wakeel has reiterated to continue support for the unprivileged children in Pakistan with free education, boarding and lodging and making them vibrantly constructive members of the society.

He stated this after visiting various sites in different parts of Punjab. Qatar Charity, a Doha based international humanitarian organization, is providing free education, nutrition, shelter and home-like environment to 3300 orphan male and female children in various parts of Pakistan particularly the earthquake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and backward areas of Punjab and Baluchistan, says a press release.

Khalifa Mohammad Thani Al Zira’a, Charge De Affairs, Embassy of the State of Qatar in Islamabad also accompanied the visiting team of Qatar Charity.

In his recent visit of Attock and Sargodha, the Country Director QC Mr. Khalid Wakeel signed a memorandum of understanding with Al-Khidmat Foundation Attock for construction of state of the art residential facility for 200 children in Darussalam Colony Attock.

The visiting team also distributed health and hygienic kits among the children sponsored by the QC. Students promoted to upper grades with good academic performance were also given special gifts and prizes.

The Country Director also visited Sargodha where the QC is sponsoring 160 children for full expenses of their education, nutrition, boarding and lodging in partnership with Society for Human Empowerment and Rural Development -SHER, proper medical check up and provision of vitamins and nutritional kits were also provided to the children in medical camp open to all.

QC also sponsors 160 children in Rawalpindi who are living along with their families but their education expenses are paid by the people of Qatar.

Khalid Wakeel expressed satisfaction over the care taken for the orphans and stressed the management of the partner organization to  serve the orphans and poor children with a zeal and commitment.

He said that serving these children is investment in the future of Pakistan and its reward is overwhelming here and hereafter.

He also thanked the ambassador of Qatar in Islamabad, the diplomatic staff in the embassy and the civil society, people and government of Pakistan for its signification support in serving the most vulnerable segment of the society.
