Privilege motion filed against PTI chief

PESHAWAR: Opposition parties in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa  Assembly submitted on Monday a privilege motion against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan for threatening to dissolve the legislature.

The motion has been signed by parliamentary leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Sardar Hussain Babak, PPP MPA Nighat Orakzai, parliamentary leader of Qaumi Watan Party Sikandar Hayat Sherpao and JUI(F) MPA Mehmood Khan Bhittani.

According to the motion, on April 5 Imran Khan threatened to dissolve the KP provincial assembly, which was against democratic norms, amounted to an attack on the parliamentary process and attempted to intimidate members of the assembly.
