ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif chaired a high level meeting on national security here to discuss the internal and external threats faced by Pakistan, Aaj News reported on Monday.
According to the sources, PM Nawaz Sharif was the president of the meeting. The country’s top military and civilian leadership were present in the meeting including, Director General Inter Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Zaheerul-Islam, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, special assistant to the PM Syed Tariq Fatemi, and other high rank officials.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the internal and external threats the country is currently facing in the backdrop of the talks with the Taliban.
The situation in Afghanistan post presidential elections was also discussed in the meeting.
Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and the special guest of PM Nawaz, Tariq Fatimi were also present in the meeting.
