Petition of Firdous Ashiq Awan dismissed due to lack of evidences

LAHORE: Election Tribunal dismissed the petition of Firdous Ashiq Awan of defrauding and cheating during the elections in the constituency of NA-111 in Sialkot.

According to the sources, Firdous Ashiq Awan registered a petition against the successful selected leader of the constituency of NA-111, PML-N, Chaudary Armaghan Subhani.

The Election Tribunal ordered the petitioner to submit strong evidences in regard to the case, whereas the Tribunal also ordered the petitioner to be present during the case. After passing these orders twice, the Election Tribunal dismissed the case and charged Former Minister, Firdous Ashiq Awan with 10,000 rupees penalty.

Meanwhile, the Election Tribunal passed their remarks regarding the case and stated that the case was dismissed on the basis of lack of evidence from the side of petitioner. They also mentioned that the petitioner itself had no interest in attending the hearing of the case.

It is pertinent to know that Firdous Ashiq Awan participated in the elections and was standing for NA-110 and NA-111 constituency associated with Pakistan People’s Party, whereas she withdrew her name from the elections of NA-110 on a mutual agreement and was left with one constituency, NA-111, which she mislaid it.
