No wheat shortage in Sindh: Food Minister

KARACHI: Sindh Food Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Sindh Food Department has taken such steps which have helped to eliminate corruption and there was not any shortage of wheat and flour in Sindh including Karachi.

He said this while talking to different delegations at his office on Monday, said a statement.

He said the provincial Food department was against profiteering, hoarding and commission mafia.

The Minister said there was no ban on bringing wheat to Karachi from four districts including Larkana, Qamar Shahdadkot, Dadu and Jamshoro.

He said that wheat as well as flour were being brought to the metropolis in large quantity.
A total 56-truck load of wheat were brought to the city in last two days, he noted.

He said ban on inter-provincial and inter-districts movements of wheat imposed while section-144 was imposed to ban on taking wheat out of the Sindh province.

Over 42000 kilograms of flour were brought to the `Sunday Bazars’ in Karachi, due to these steps, he added.
