National security meeting currently underway

ISLAMABAD: A high level meeting to discuss national security issues, headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently underway at the PM House, Aaj News reported on Thursday.

It is being expected that some important decisions would be taken as a result of this meeting regarding the future of the dialogue process with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), national security and peace process.

According to the reports, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Pervez Rasheed,  Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Rashad Mahmood, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) chief Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila, Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen Zaheerul Islam and Director-General Intelligence Bureau Aftab Sultan are present in the meeting.
