Musharraf’s high treason case not related to Pak Army: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Planning and development Ahsan Iqbal has said that high treason case against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf was not related to Pakistan Army at all, Aaj News reported on Saturday.

While talking to the media in Lahore, Ahsan Iqbal said that Musharraf has not made any statement as the former Army Chief but as a politician, army should not get involved in his case.

Pervez Musharraf has destroyed the Pak Army institution. Now, it is impossible to convert Mushararf’s case into Army’s case, he said.

He said that those who tried to involve Pakistan army with the high treason case against Musharaf was actually committed serious crime.

He advised Musharraf not to make Army at stake in his personal matters as he is not more related to army but leading a political party.

He said that lawyers team of Musharraf wanted to create chaos and crises and termed it as a worst conspiracy against democracy.

Ahsan Iqbal viewed that it is our constitutional obligation that not to compromise on political stability. While talking about Govt-Taliban peace negotiations, Ahsan Iqbal said that negotiation with Taliban shura can be done at anytime as it is not a big deal.

To restore peace in the country is the first priority of PM Nawaz Sharif, said Federal Minister for Planning and development Ahsan Iqbal.
