MQM announces countrywide protest on 17th and 18th

KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) announced to stage nationwide protest on April 17th and April 18th against the arrest, torturing and execution of party workers and killings of professionals in raids, Aaj News reported.

While addressing a press conference in Karachi, MQM leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi said, “The tortured dead bodies of our activists found in Karachi and interior Sindh, which is intolerable.”

They wanted to press the government to prosecute the personnel responsible for illegal raids, arrests and executions. MQM has demanded the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Federal Interior Minister, DG Rangers and IG Sindh to take notice of such incidents and provide justice to the affected families.

Moreover, they have asked compensation for the members of affected families and for the recovery of the arrested workers.

The MQM leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi said that his party would not take it anymore as enough was enough. The Govt have to take any proper step in this regard, he added.
