ISLAMABAD: Death anniversary of ace comedian and actor Moin Akhtar will be observed on April 22.
Moin Akhtar is remembered as a versatile artist and a noble human being by numerous fans and colleagues in the country.
Moin Akhtar stepped into the show business in the sixties and continued ruling various fields of performing arts with his spontaneous performances and intelligent interaction with others.
He was born in Karachi on December 24, 1950 and his mother tongue was Urdu but he performed with command in many other languages including Bengali, Sindhi and Gujrati.
During his career, spread over half a century, Akhtar performed over 1,000 different characters successfully on television and stage.
He also hosted many television talk shows which were tremendously popular among his fans and viewers owing mainly to his witty remarks and subtle references.
He was a good singer and sang many parodies. Moin Akhtar was suffering from a heart disease during the last days of his life that eventually lead to his death on April 22, 2012.
