JKLF condemns continued illegal detention of Yasin Malik

ISLAMABAD: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has strongly denounced the continued illegal detention of its Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The JKLF spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested on Thursday (April 17) and lodged at Kothi Bagh Police Station in Srinagar, KMS reported.

He said that the KLF zonal chief, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, was also arrested by the police during a nocturnal raid. Police are also in search of many JKLF leaders and activists and resorting to nocturnal raids, and other oppressive measures to sabotage the ongoing election boycott campaign, he added.

The spokesman said that restrictions on peaceful political activities had proved that holding of sham elections was merely a military operation and India was trying to befool the international community.
