Govt taking steps to facilitate people: Governor


MUZAFFARGARH: Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar on Friday said the government was taking all possible measures to provide all basic facilities, including health and education, to every one.

He was addressing a ceremony organized for distributing keys of 50 houses of a model village built for the flood-hit people by Al-Khair Foundation, an NGO, here at Rukhpur area, Kot Addu.

He said the day was not far when the country would emerge as one of the prosperous countries.

The governor said the UK had offered $ 40 billion aid for the promotion of the education sector.

He said the government was providing all-out assistance to NGOs for various welfare projects for deserving people.

Later, Chaudhary Sarwar distributed keys to flood-affected people, including widows and orphans. The governor appreciated Al-Khair Foundation for constructing the houses.

A mosque, a middle school, a medical dispensary and two markets have also been constructed in the model village.

Al-Khair Foundation chairman Qasim Rasheed Ahmad also addressed the ceremony. Former MNA Rana Mahmoodul Hassan, MPA Rana Tahir Shabir, DCO Shukat Ali and DPO Rai Zameerul Haq were present.
