‘Govt may use ships for Hajj, Umra pilgrims’

MULTAN: Former provincial minister Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi said on Tuesday the government was considering operating ships to cut the cost of Hajj and Umra.

The sea route from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia will be a six-day travel and it would reduce the cost considerably, he said while addressing a reception by PML-N leader Haji Ghulam Haidar Qureshi.

He said that 200,000 people have filed applications for Hajj during the last two days and added that efforts would be made to get the quota of Pakistani Hujjaj increased next year.

He said the government would end unemployment in the country and talented and skillful youths would be provided with jobs and support for their own businesses.
