Government focusing to improve economy: Mamnoon

KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the government is focusing on improving law and order, and economic situation in the country, which will create more job opportunities and attract investment, giving a spur to robust trade activities.

He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Dow International Dental College at Dow University of Health Sciences’s Ojha Campus here on Tuesday.

The President called for joint efforts to lead the country on the path of progress as envisioned by the Founder of Nation Quaid- i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He also underlined the need to eradicate menace of corruption from the society.

Mamnoon Hussain said the present government had a team of capable and honest persons, which would overcome the challenges faced by the country. When the government completed its tenure, the country would be moving on the path of development and prosperity, he added.

The President said the positive results of the government’s policies had started yielding results, that included among others the appreciation of rupee against dollar.

About the economic corridor with China, he said it would not only benefit Pakistan, but other countries of the region also.

He also appreciated the role of Dow University in imparting education and training.

He stressed that universities should pay the maximum attention towards their academic faculties, as it was necessary to impart quality education.

The Vice Chancellor of Dow University presented a shield to President Mamnoon Hussain.

The President also visited Orthodontics Department of the college.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Masood Hameed Khan, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, among others, were present.
