Altaf submits application for Pakistani travel documents

ISLAMABAD: To obtain Pakistani passport and computerized national identity card (CNIC), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has submitted an application , confirmed by the Foreign Office, Aaj News reported.

According to the spokesperson of Foreign Office Tasneem Aslam, the MQM chief contacted Pakistani High Commission in London and has applied for Pakistani travel documents. For further process, the application has been forwarded to the interior ministry.

The Foreign Office spokesperson remarked, “It is the interior ministry that deals with such applications and the foreign ministry has no role in the procedure.”

According to the reports, Altaf Hussain said that he submitted application for Pakistani National Identity Card (NIC) and Passport on April 4. He said that he would go to court if he is denied passport, adding that people can hold peaceful protests.
