Verdict on EOBI corruption case: Nullifies 238 appointments

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has passed its verdict on EOBI corruption scandal case, suspending 238 illegal appointments made, Aaj News reported

The court referred the appointment of Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s son-in-law Raja Azeem-ul-Haq to NAB.

Headed by SC Judge, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and a two-member bench declared the appointment of 238 employees in Old Age Benefit Institute as null and void.

The court ordered the NAB to take strict action against the responsible people and submit a report within one month. The court also directed the NAB Chairman to make re-appointments on the vacant poisition ensuring transparency otherwise he would be held responsible.
