ISLAMABAD: The Special Court, holing trial under Article 6 of Constitution, on Wednesday summoned the head of intelligence agency who reportedly informed Interior Ministry about possibility of an attack on General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
The three-member special court, bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab of Sindh High Court, resumed hearing of the high treason case against Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf and remarked that he had witnessed some documents, which pointed out that not only accused but court room and lawyers were also under threat of an attack.
He said that Tuesday evening, some documents were presented before him in which Interior Ministry was complainant. He asked that who had seen the words used in the security alert.
He said that the court room, prosecutor head and the defence counsel were also threatened.
Tariq Hassan, member Prosecution team also expressed his concern over the security alert and said that the team was taking the matter seriously.
He said that whenever court summoned accused for charge-sheet, something untoward did happen. He also stressed for proper security arrangements.
Tariq Hassan said that Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan has contradicted the plan to attack Musharraf and denied that they had threatened him.
Sharif Uddin-Pirzada, Head of Defence Counsel said that everyone knew that what happened with slain Governor Punjab Salman Taseer and added that such elements existed in the society.
The court directed the intelligence agency head to appear before the court on next hearing and adjourned the hearing of case till Thursday.
