ISLAMABAD: Registrar of the Supreme Court Dr. Faqir Hussain will retire on March 24 (Monday) after serving about seven years on the post
According to a press release of the Supreme Court issued here on Tuesday, Dr. Faqir Hussain has no intention to get extension and news in this regard published in a section of the press is not true.
Dr. Faqir Hussain who was Secretary Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan and he was given dual charge as Registrar of the Supreme Court on June 30, 2005 the day when Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took oath of his office.
On his retirement as Secretary Law and Justice Commission, Dr. Faqir Hussian was appointed as Registrar of the Apex Court on contract in 2009 by Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry who retired on December 12, 2013 made on contract and dual charge basis.
Following is the text of the press release issued by the Supreme Court here on Tuesday.
“Reference media speculations to the effect that the term of Dr. Faqir Hussain as Registrar SC is being extended. It is clarified that Dr. Faqir Hussain has no such desire to seek extension in service. His term as Registrar SC will conclude on 24.3.14. Moreover, he has already forwarded a not to HCJP for initiating the process of filling the anticipated vacancy in the office of Registrar.
In the note, he has thanked the HCJP for reposing confidence in him and support extended to him to carry out the duties of his office. He has aslo thanked the hon’ble judges for their guidance and further appreciated officers and staff for their continued cooperation.”
