Karachi: The security has been put on high alert around Mazar-e-Quaid (mausoleum of Mohammad Ali Jinnah) in Karachi, Minaar-e-Pakistan and Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore, Aaj News reported on Saturday.
According to the board sources of Mazar-e-Quaid, the security has been raised at Mazar-e-Quaid and forces alert around the Mazar just on the security measures. Police have set up pickets as well as snap-checking points on all the roads leading to the last resting place of the founder of the nation.
Some credible intelligence and police have reported about possible terrorist attacks in or around Mazar-e-Quiad prompted the authorities to to take these extreme measures.
On the other hand, Lahore police also got some threats regarding the attack of Mazar-e-Iqbal and Minaar-e-Pakistan, as a result of which, security forces have been alert around the both historical places.
No vehicles are being allowed to near these places. Only those visitors who are on foot can go into the complex.
