ISLAMABAD: Firing and two suicide attacks took place at F-8 district court room due to which 12 people were killed and 30 others sustained injuries, whereas the court room has been evacuated for further investigation, Aaj News reported.
According to the sources, 12 people including Additional Session Judge Rafaqat Awan, Haji Sanaullah were killed and twenty other people including women and known Judges sustained injuries, whereas Commander of Police Terrorist Unit also arrived at the incident site immediately.
On the other hand, the dead bodies and the injured were immediately shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital. According to the hospital sources, emergency situation has been declared in the hospital, whereas 24 people have been bought to the hospital in which three are in critical condition.
According to the initial reports given by the police states that the attackers came inside the court room and opened fire on the Judges and other jury members, whereas they blew themselves off after reaching to a closer proximity in the court room . On the other hand, two attacker easily fled away from the incident site but their car was seized by the police. The police identifies the car as FQ-865.
Chief Justice has also taken notice regarding the incident and has asked the Interior Secretary and IG to present in the court with a detailed report, whereas the judges will observe mourning day tomorrow.
