KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has directed the police and Rangers to ensure within a week the arrest of the killers of a factory owner, Abdullah Rais, who recently fell victim to target killing.
The Governor issued this directive to the Director General Rangers, the I.G. Sindh Police and the Karachi police chief in a meeting with the businessmen’s delegation from the SITE Association which led by Industrialist Siraj Qasim Teli called on him at the Governor House, here on Tuesday.
Dr Ishratul Ebad said that the Federal and provincial governments are making efforts to maintain law and order in Karachi and for this purpose the ongoing targeted action is being further accelerated.
He said that an electronic surveillance system has been introduced in the SITE industrial area to rid it of crimes and this system will be linked with a quick response team soon.
The Governor expressed that to ensure a fool proof security, it is necessary to convert all the industrial areas into “gatted community”. He said that he will play his role in acquiring funds from the Federal and provincial governments in this regard. The funds will also be released to improve infrastructure in SITE industrial zone, he added.
