CHINIOT: After the orders passed by the Punjab Govt. to take immediate actions regarding the gang-rape case of a girl who was declared guilty by the Panchayat; the police arrested four accused involved in the case, Aaj News reported.
According to the sources, the girl was declared guilty by the Panchayat in Maru Bhatia area of Chiniot on the basis of marrying a guy of her own choice, whereas the Panchayat punished the girl with a gang-rape penalty.
Later, the family members of the girl registered a complaint in Muhammad Wala Police Station against 12 people including Gul Sher, Amanullah, Mulla Zafar, Sikander and Anwar. In regard to the complaint and orders passed by the Punjab Govt., the police arrested four accused who were involved in the case.
On the other hand, DPO Rao Munir Zia said that investigation with the accused is in process, whereas for further detailed investigation, a new committee has been setup, who will look after this specified matter.
