ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ambassador to China Khalid Masood has said that China will invest in 16 energy projects in Pakistan which will have capacity to produce 21,000 MW electricity.
Talking to PTV, Ambassador Masood said that these projects included solar, hydel and coal power projects which will make the country self- sufficient in power generation.
He said that the last year visits of Prime Ministers from both the sides after assuming power manifested that that the two nations have strong bonding.
He said that President Mamnoon Hussain also paid his first official visit to china that reflected the old friendly ties of the two countries.
To a question, he said that China assists Pakistan in different power projects which will increase the country’s capacity of power generation.
” Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal met several CEOs of big chinese companies which resulted in enormous investment in power generation projects,” he added.
He said that Pak-China economic corridor was a gigantic development project that encouraged private sector to make maximum investment in energy and infrastructure development in Pakistan.
