BAHAWALNAGAR: As many as 456,721 children under five years of age will be administered polio vaccine during the three-day anti-polio drive starting from March 24 in the district.
This was told in a meeting held here on Saturday with DCO Bahawalnagar Muhammad Irshad Hussain Shah in the chair.
DOC Malik Mushtaq Ahmed, DSP headquarters Khalid Mehmood, EDO Health, DHO, MS DHQ, deputy health officers and others attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the DCO said that eradication of crippling disease like polio was the mission of the government and for this purpose all departments should utilize
He urged the parents to realise their responsibilities in the eradication of polio to save their children from polio.
The DCO directed the revenue department officials to make announcements through loud speakers at mosques for polio vaccination.
The meeting was told that 859 mobile teams, 59 transit and 126 fixed teams have been constituted to administer anti-polio drops to children in the district.
