The rupee showed little changes against the dollar on the local currency market on Friday, dealers said. The rupee managed to gain two-paisa versus the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 104.88 and Rs 104.90 respectively, they said.
INTERBANK MARKET RATES: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee did not move any side in relation to the dollar for buying at Rs 105.50, while it rose by 10-paisa for selling at Rs 105.70, they said. It fell sharply against the euro losing Rs 1.20 for buying and selling at Rs 144.80 and Rs 145.05 respectively, they said.
In the final Asian trade, the US dollar was pinned at three-week lows against a basket of major currencies on Friday after disappointingly soft US data dealt a blow to the already struggling greenback. The Euro brushed off news that Italy’s prime minister would resign, instead focusing on the euro zone’s GDP data due later in the day for near term direction. The dollar was at Rs 62.33 versus the Indian rupee, the greenback was available at 3.3170 in terms of the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was at 6.0623 against the Chinese yuan.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained upward slide and appreciated its worth by 20-paisa against the US dollar on the local currency market on Friday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar was opened on depressed note and remained under pressure due to lacking buyers’ interest. At close, the dollar was ended lower at Rs 105.55 and Rs 105.80 on buying and selling counter against the overnight closing of Rs 105.75 and Rs 106.00, respectively.
On the contrary, the rupee remained under pressure and was declined against the British pound. The pound’s buying and selling rates were increased from Thursday closing of Rs 175.00 and Rs 175.25 to Rs 175.20 and Rs 176.20, respectively, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.
The dollar opened at Rs 106 (buying) and Rs 106.25 (selling) against last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 106 (buying) and Rs 106.25 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 173 (buying) and Rs 173.50 (selling) against same last rate. It closed at the same rate without further change by the end of evening session.
