KARACHI: Supreme Court (SC) was briefed regarding the report submitted by the police against the Karachi unrest case, whereas SP Anti-Encroachment has been called on 26 February in the court, Aaj News reported.
According to the sources, the Karachi unrest case led by Jusice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and three-member-bench was heard in Karachi Registry today. During the hearing, police submitted a report in which they have mentioned that 10,000 terrorists have been arrested during the operations, whereas 175 challans were submitted in the court against the terrorists.
On the other hand, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain raised an objection against the submission of 175 challans and said that if 10,000 terrorists have been arrested during the operations, so why only 175 challans were submitted in the court.
Additionally, the court session also discussed about the jams allotted in the Central Jail, due to which the residents living nearby are in problem.
On the other hand, Board of Union submitted a report regarding the illegal owing of lands. The report mentioned that 60,000 acre land has been owned illegally in which 52,000 acre land has been owned by Provincial and Federal institutions, whereas 8,000 acre land has been owned by the Mafia.
Supreme Court has called SP Anti-Encroachment Arif Aziz on 26 February and has also the IG sindh to submit a report regarding the deployment of SSP Malir Rao Nawaz, whereas the court has also asked the session Judges of Jacobabad and Dadu to submit a report regarding the firing incidents.
