ISLAMABAD: Ulema and renowned religious scholars have appreciated the government for its peace establishing efforts and assured their complete support in this regard.
This assurance was given by the Ulema during a meeting with the Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at Karachi on Friday.
The Interior Minister, during his tour to Karachi, visited various religious institutions including Dar-ul-Uloom Korangi and met with the head of the institution Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani, Chief of Jamia Banori Town Maulana Dr. Abdul Razaq Sikandar, Administrator of Jamia Farooqia Maulana Obaid Ullah Khalid, Director Jamia Rasheed Mufti Syed Adnan Kaka Khel, Maulana Aziz-ur-Rehman, Maulana Mehmood Ashraf, Maulana Zubair Ashraf Usmani, Maulana Imran Ashraf Usmani, Maulana Iftikhar Aazmi and Maulana Rahat Ali Hashmi.
Ch. Nisar Ali Khan apprise Ulema about the progress made so far about Government-Taliban committees’ meetings.
All the renowned religious scholars and Ulema, on the occasion, lauded the efforts of the government for keeping Ulema continuously on-board about the dialogue process for peace and assured their full support to the government in this regard.
The Ulema also discussed with the Interior Minister about elimination of interest from the financial system and introduction of Interest free economic system based on Islamic principles already mentioned in the constitution, besides the ousting of vulgarity from the society.
The Interior minister assured the Ulema that in this connection the government had already started efforts.
The Interior Minister was informed that the vice president of Dar-ul-Uloom Karachi and internationally acclaimed jurist and religious scholar Justice (R) Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani was currently on a visit to Madina Munawara, on which, the minister called him on phone and discussed with him about the progress of peace initiatives undertaken by the government through Government-Taliban committees.
Taqi Usmani fully supported the ongoing peace process and assured his full support to the minister in this regard.
Nisar thanked Mr. Usmani for his support for peace process in the country.
