ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday rejected any conspiracy behind the resignation of Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Yaseen Anwar.
Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Farhatullah Babar, he said,” There was no conspiracy behind the resignation of Governor State Bank of Pakistan (PSB), due to personal reasons he had approached the government to relieve him from the duties.”
The Minister said the son of Yaseen Anwar received head injuries in the unfortunate accident and admitted in the Singapore hospital.
Ishaq Dar said the former State Bank Governor in the resignation had requested the government for end-of-tenure benefits.
The Minister said, on human grounds his request was forwarded to President through Prime Minister end-of-tenure benefits in the summary.
He said it was not true, that SBP government had been send home due to disagreement on policies.
The Minister said during last seven month the former SBP, was not performing duty due to his son issue and all burden related to bank was on his shoulder.
He further said during the last government tenure several Governors of State Bank were changed but “We never objected on move of the pervious government.”
The Minister said it was the stance of the present government from the day one that action should be initiated against the loan defeaters without any discrimination.
Responding to another point, the minister said, a committee was constituted having representation from FBR and SBP to check outflow of dollars to foreign countries.
He said the government fully believed on the Autonomous regulation bodies.
