ISLAMABAD: State Minister of Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman has said that the government is giving top priority to dialogue with Taliban for restoring peaceful environment in the country.
“Dialogue would be the first option to maintain peace in the country, ” he stated while talking to a private television channel.
He said that Prime Minister and Interior Minister are in touch with the members of the Peace Committee established by the government to initiate talks with the elements wanted peace in the country.
He said that laws are in place to protect witnesses and judges dealing with the criminal cases. He said that the government is providing security to the witnesses and those persons dealing with the sensitive cases.
Replying to a question he said that any institution working on sensitive cases like missing person cases should follow the constitutional ways.
State Minister said: “It is imperative to respect and follow the Constitution.”
He said that government is making efforts to address the issues confronted by the people.
To another question regarding attack on police force, he said that the government is taking steps to flush out menace of terrorism and ensure peace across the country.
