ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting to review arrangements for providing security to celebrations and processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
He directed the Islamabad administration and police to take precautionary measures to meet any untoward situation and ensure safety of life and property of the citizens.
Special emphasis was laid on greater coordination between Rawalpindi and Islamabad police in terms of information sharing joint patrolling and identification of potentially volatile areas.
The minister issued directives for seamless coordination between federal security agencies and provincial authorities in this regard.
Chaudhry Nisar asked the Islamabad police to immediately withdraw all its staff deputed with unauthoritised persons and bring them into mainstream policing duties to increase the efficiency of the force.
