PESHAWAR: At least seven persons including two children have been killed and 11 others injured in a bomb blast occurred near Scheme Chowk, Aaj News reported.
According to Senior police official Najeeb-ur-Rehman, six people including two children were killed and 11 others injured when an explosives-laden car, parked at a motor workshop on the outskirts of Peshawar, blew up.
“Around 25 to 30 kilograms (44 to 66 lbs) of explosives were used in the blast”, he added.
An AFP correspondent at the scene said flesh and blood was scattered around the area, and vehicles nearby had also been destroyed.
Police and rescue teams reached at the incident site and shifted the injured persons to Lady Reading Hospital.
An spokesman for the government-run Lady Reading Hospital confirmed the casualties and said two of the injured are in critical condition.
