Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that he is no anti-India or US rather he is against the Indian policy on Kashmir and the United States’ policy of drone attacks and war against terrorism. India has deployed 7,00,000 army personnel in held Kashmir under its Kashmir policy, he added.
Talking to media persons at Lahore Airport after returning from India where he attended an international conference and interacted with senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other Indian politicians.
“PTI wants to have good relations with all countries of the world. It is not against any country. It only opposes their policies. Pakistan’s relations with India and USA will not improve without resolution of Kashmir and drones issues, respectively,” Khan made it clear.
The PTI chief said that during his stay in India he had highlighted Indian interference in Balochistan and support to Taliban and stressed that bilateral relations with India could not improve until the resolution of Kashmir issue.
Khan said that the largest number of poor and down trodden live in the Subcontinent. Peace is pre-requisite to improve the lot of the poor. But peace cannot be achieved without resolution of the long-standing Kashmir issue through dialogue as neighbours do across the table, he added.
He said Pakistan and India need strong leaders who speak truth to the people and sell the idea that war was no option to resolve the issues. India and Pakistan should look for what was best for people of Jammu and Kashmir
The PTI chief said he had put forth a suggestion to set up a Pak-India joint nuclear energy plant on the border to build confidence between the two countries. This joint nuclear energy plan should be operated by 50 percent engineers of Pakistan and 50 percent engineers of India. This would promote good neighbourly relations and bilateral trade and economic co-operation.
Khan said his party would stage a protest demonstration in Lahore against the price hike on December 22. He said that neither investment was being made in Pakistan nor tax was collected. The poor people have been further burdened with indirect taxes.
He said PTI will give its economic agenda to ameliorate lot of the poor and step up economic activities in the country on December 22 in Lahore.
The PTI chief alleged that PML-N is actively involved in the pre-local bodies’ election rigging. The Prime Minister is announcing youth business schemes which tantamount to rigging the forthcoming LB elections. He said PTI still stand by its demand for recounting of votes in at least four constituencies by verification of votes by Nadra.
