Pro-India NC responsible for Kashmiris’ miseries: Mirwaiz

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that pro-India National Conference was responsible for all the miseries of the Kashmiri people.

According to KMS, the APHC Chairman addressing a gathering in Held Srinagar said that the NC leaders, Sheikh Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah had ensured that Kashmir remained dependent on India.

He said that Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, through his opportunistic decisions, made Jammu and Kashmir politically and economically dependent on India for the lust of power.

The APHC Chairman’s remarks came in response to the puppet Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah’s recent assertion that Sheikh Abdullah’s decisions were `to safeguard the future
of J&K.’

“Whenever we raise finger at India for oppressing and choking Kashmiris, the blame equally goes on to NC. The party played a crucial role in subjugating Kashmiris to keep its bosses in New Delhi happy ever since partition. NC leadership has always been part of New Delhi’s policies aimed at making Jammu and Kashmir politically and economically dependent. The
process was first started by Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah in 1938
when he broke Muslim Conference,” the Mirwaiz said.

He said, the NC leaders have no right to talk about welfare of Kashmiris. “Who is responsible for killing of one lakh people?

Who is responsible for 10,000 disappearances and 6,000 unmarked graves and the miseries faced by the people in the past 20 years?” he questioned.

“NC can’t escape from the facts. This party has ruled Kashmir most of the time (since partition) and is responsible for all the agonies of people,” he added.

APHC Chairman said that Jammu and Kashmir was the first place in South Asia to set up a power project namely Mohra power house in1905. “We are being forced to beg for the purchase of electricity.

Our women and children have to take to streets to demand water and power,” he said. “We have a potential of 30,000 MW of hydro-electricity which could fetch us enormous revenue.

This potential remains unexploited due to NC and their bosses in Delhi,” he

Mirwaiz also castigated the puppet Chief Minister’s statement that 40 bunkers were removed from Srinagar city in the past five years. “When seven lakh troops are present in Held Kashmir and laws like AFSPA, PSA and DAA are in place, removal of some bunkers won’t work,” he said.
