ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said the memory of Nelson Mandela would serve as a beacon for the coming generations in their quest for human dignity and equality.
The Prime Minister expressed these views in his remarks in the condolence book placed at the embassy of South Africa here during his visit to offer his condolences on the death of South African leader.
The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and the people of South Africa.
He termed the death of Nelson Mandela a great loss to the world.
“He was a man of foresight and great wisdom, and his services towards reconciliation, human rights, and democracy will be remembered,” he said.
The Prime Minister recalled his meeting with Nelson Mandela in 1991 in Harare and said that it was an honour and pleasure meeting such a great person.
He mentioned that Mandela twice visited Pakistan and was in favour of peaceful resolution to the issues between Pakistan and India.
